Living Outside Dublin? How to Order and Fit Custom Seat Covers in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Beyond

Published on 2026-11-05

Our workshop is in Ballycoolin, Dublin 15, but most of the questions we get come from further afield: "I'm in Cork, can I still order?" The short answer is yes. Custom seat covers in Ireland are made to order and delivered free, tracked, to any address in the country. Here's how the process works if you're outside Dublin, and what to plan for.

What Stays the Same Wherever You Live

Whether you're in Dublin 15 or on the Wild Atlantic Way, the covers are the same:

  • Made for your exact car. Pick your make, model and year in the 3D configurator, choose a pattern, colours and materials, and see the result before you pay. You can check your model on the car list first.
  • Made to order in our workshop. Every set is cut and sewn specifically for your order.
  • Free tracked delivery. Shipping is free across Ireland, by DPD or An Post Express, with tracking included.

Our locations pages cover Cork, Galway and Limerick in more detail, but the process is identical for every county.

What Is Different: Fitting

Professional fitting is available only at our Dublin workshop. If you're outside Dublin, your covers are supplied for self-fitting, together with the installation instructions.

That sounds more daunting than it is. Customers in Cork, for example, are told to allow around an hour with our step-by-step guide. The main stages are:

  1. Fit the cover over the seat.
  2. Cut the openings for controls where needed.
  3. Attach the Velcro.
  4. Secure the cover under the seat.
  5. Finish the headrests.

There are extra instructions for rear seat headrests, seat belts and tilting levers. If those details worry you, read our post on how covers fit around headrests, belts and levers before you order.

A Note on Airbags

Our installation guide is clear that covers must only be installed on seats equipped with side airbags in the way the instructions describe, and that they must not interfere with airbag deployment. Follow the instructions carefully, and see our airbag safe seat covers guide for what to check.

Do I Have to Do It Myself?

No. If you'd rather have the covers fitted, you can combine the delivery with a trip to Dublin by booking a fitting at the workshop. Our comparison of DIY installation vs professional fitting will help you decide. If you do choose workshop fitting, read how to prepare your car for a fitting appointment.

Why Weather Matters More Outside the Capital

The covers you choose should suit how you actually use the car. Every region has its own habits:

  • Cork and the south coast: sand, salt and damp from coastal runs and wet weather. Waterproof and eco-leather options wipe clean quickly.
  • Galway and the west: rain-soaked jackets and muddy boots after walks. Waterproof covers keep it off the original seat.
  • Limerick and long-distance commuters: high mileage means heavy driver's seat wear, so protecting the bolster makes sense.

If damp is your main concern, see who actually needs waterproof seat covers and our guide to autumn and winter seat cover care.

Timeline: What to Expect

  1. Design and order online. You pay in full at checkout in the configurator. See payment options for details.
  2. Production. The standard waiting period is 3–5 weeks from the date of payment, as every set is custom made.
  3. Delivery. Your covers ship free with tracking.
  4. Fitting. Allow an hour or so, pick a dry day and have your instructions to hand.

For the full picture, read what happens after you order and our shipping and delivery guide. If you're ordering for the festive season, remember the production time and check when to order before Christmas.

Tips for a Smooth Self-Fit

  • Read the whole installation guide once before you start.
  • Set aside an unhurried hour, ideally in a garage or on a dry day.
  • Take your time with the openings. Check each one before moving on.
  • Fit one seat fully before starting the next.
  • Look at the gallery for examples of finished interiors to compare against.
