How to Prepare Your Car for a Fitting Appointment in Dublin
Booking professional fitting at our Ballycoolin workshop is the easiest way to get a flawless finish on your custom seat covers โ but a little preparation on your side makes the appointment quicker and smoother for everyone. Here's exactly what to do before you drive over, and what to expect once you arrive.
Before You Book
If you haven't ordered yet, professional fitting is arranged as part of a workshop order, secured with a โฌ200 non-refundable deposit. You can read the full breakdown of how this works, including payment via Revolut Business, on our payment options page. Fitting itself is only available in person at our workshop โ it isn't offered as a stand-alone service without a covers order.
Once your covers are designed in the 3D configurator and the order is placed, our team gets to work. The standard production time is 6-8 weeks, so your fitting appointment will be scheduled once your set is ready โ not on the day you place the order. If you're weighing this route against fitting the covers yourself, our DIY vs professional fitting comparison breaks down which option suits your situation.
What to Do Before Your Appointment
A few simple steps on your end will save time when you arrive:
- Clean the seats. A quick vacuum and wipe-down of the seats means our team can start fitting straight away instead of dealing with crumbs, sand or pet hair first.
- Clear the car of loose items. Remove anything stored in door pockets, seat-back pockets or on the seats themselves โ child seats, dog guards, phone mounts and the like โ so the seats are fully accessible.
- Note any accessories fitted to the seats. Heated seat controls, integrated armrests, split-folding rear benches or aftermarket levers should already be accounted for in your original configurator order, but mentioning them again when you arrive helps our team double-check the fit.
- Bring your order confirmation. Having your order or registration number to hand (the same one used in your payment reference) speeds up check-in.
- Plan for some waiting time. Fitting a full set takes time to do properly โ cutting each opening cleanly, tensioning the material and seating the headrests. Bringing a coffee, a book, or arranging a lift if you'd rather not wait in the car park is worth considering.
What Happens When You Arrive
Our workshop is at Unit 229, Blanchardstown Corporate Park 2, Ballycoolin Road, Dublin 15. When you get there:
- Our team confirms your order and takes the car in.
- Each cover is fitted seat by seat โ following the same careful process described on our installation instructions page: aligning the cover, cutting openings for levers and controls, securing the Velcro and elastic fastenings, and finishing the headrest openings cleanly along the stitching.
- Every opening is checked against your car's actual controls and seat belts, not just the general pattern โ this is the main advantage of having it done on-site rather than at home.
- You pay the balance on completion, and drive away with a finished interior.
Because fitting is done by the people who made your covers, tricky seats โ integrated armrests, side airbags, split rear benches โ get the same attention as a standard seat. If your car has side airbags built into the seats, our team will make sure the covers are installed in a way that doesn't interfere with deployment, exactly as outlined in our safety and airbags guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book fitting without ordering covers first? No โ professional fitting is part of a workshop order and requires the โฌ200 deposit to secure the appointment slot.
How long does the appointment take? It depends on the number of seats and the complexity of your interior, but plan for it to take a while rather than a quick drop-in. Ask our team for a time estimate when you book.
What if I can't get to Dublin 15? That's exactly what our DIY installation option is for. The covers are engineered for a straightforward at-home fit, with full instructions and free delivery anywhere in Ireland โ see our how to order page for both routes.
Do I need to remove my current seat covers first? Let our team know when you book if your seats currently have another set of covers fitted, so they can plan for removal as part of the appointment.
