How to Pay for Custom Seat Covers: Online Checkout vs Workshop Deposit
Once you've settled on colours, stitching and materials, the last step is the one people ask about most: how do you actually pay, and what does that payment lock in? Because every set is made to order, paying isn't just a transaction — it's what puts your car into the production queue and reserves your place in the schedule.
There are two routes, and which one suits you depends on whether you're ordering from your kitchen table or standing in our workshop in Dublin 15. Here's how each one works.
Route 1: Order and Pay Online
Most customers design and buy in one sitting through the 3D configurator. You pick your make, model and year, choose a pattern, set your colours and stitching, add or remove armrests, and the price updates live as you go. Nothing is hidden until checkout.
When you're happy with the design:
- Full payment is taken at checkout. Online orders are paid in full, not in stages.
- Payments run through Revolut Business, which accepts debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Add your car registration number in the payment notes. This is the single most useful thing you can do for us — it ties your payment to the right vehicle and pattern immediately, with no back-and-forth.
- Optional professional installation can be added at checkout if you'd rather we fit the covers for you.

Why Full Payment Online?
Custom covers aren't stock items. Nothing about your set exists until you order it — the pattern is pulled for your exact model, the material is cut, and the panels are stitched to your colour choices. That set can't be resold to anyone else, so production starts on a confirmed order rather than a reservation. Paying in full is what triggers the cutting and stitching to begin.
Route 2: Pay a €200 Deposit at the Workshop
If you'd rather see and feel the materials before committing, you can order in person at our workshop and secure it with a deposit instead.
- A €200 non-refundable deposit secures your workshop order and your fitting appointment.
- The deposit is paid via our Revolut Business link, the same secure gateway used for online orders.
- The balance is due on completion, when your covers are finished and ready to be fitted.
The deposit is non-refundable for the same reason online orders are paid in full: it covers the point at which your specific pattern and material are committed to. Worth knowing before you pay, not after — so if you're still deciding between two colour combinations, decide first, then pay.
When the Workshop Route Makes More Sense
- You want to handle real eco-leather and Alcantara samples rather than judge them on a screen.
- Your car has an unusual seat layout and you'd like it looked at in person.
- You're ordering for a taxi, driving school car or a fleet of vans and want to talk through the spec.
- You'd prefer to spread the cost across a deposit now and the balance later.

What Your Payment Actually Buys
Whichever route you take, the payment starts the same sequence:
- Order confirmed — your design, vehicle details and colour choices are locked in.
- Production begins — the standard waiting period is 6–8 weeks, because everything is cut and stitched to order.
- Delivery or fitting — covers ship free anywhere in Ireland with tracked DPD or An Post Express delivery, or stay with us if you've booked fitting at the workshop.

If you're shipping outside Ireland, EU delivery is charged at standard per-country rates shown on the site, with typical transit times of 5–10 business days.
Common Payment Questions
Can I pay a deposit online? The deposit route is for workshop orders. Orders placed through the online configurator are paid in full at checkout.
Is Revolut secure? Payments are processed by Revolut Business, not handled by us directly. Your card details never sit on our website.
What if I forget to add my registration number? Email us at seatcovers.ie@gmail.com with your name and the reg, and we'll match it to your payment. It just saves a step if you include it up front.
